In Limoges, the social housing and public-facility projects likely to pursue certification are designed in a cold climate, a context in which the sizing of the ventilation must reconcile sufficient air renewal with control of heat losses, a trade-off that regulatory compliance alone does not settle. The simulation with INDALO objectifies this balance by estimating the predicted concentrations according to the air flow rates and specified products, and provides the justification required in the file. This is a study carried out ahead of works, with no air sampling or analysis.
In Limoges, the indoor air quality of a new building is decided at the design stage, through two levers: the specification of products according to their emissions health labelling and the design of the ventilation. The simulation estimates the predicted concentrations and produces the technical justification expected by certification schemes, before choices are locked in.
