In Valence, the housing schemes and public facilities likely to pursue certification are designed within a corridor where exposure to transport infrastructure guides the choice of siting of air intakes, and where the mistral influences the actual behaviour of the ventilation. The simulation with INDALO models the predicted concentrations from the emissions of the specified products, the ventilation principle and the occupancy scenarios, and produces the justification expected in the certification file. It takes place at the design stage, with no air sampling or analysis.
In Valence, the indoor air quality of a new building is decided at the design stage, through two levers: the specification of products according to their emissions health labelling and the design of the ventilation. The simulation estimates the predicted concentrations and produces the technical justification expected by certification schemes, before choices are locked in.
