In Nanterre and the La Défense district, acoustics plays out inside high-rise buildings, on open-plan floors where the issue is not insulation but the quality of the working environment: reverberation time, spatial decay, confidentiality of conversations, treatment of collaborative spaces. The heavy refurbishment of towers, very common in the area, is also carried out in partially occupied buildings, which shifts part of the study towards controlling construction noise with respect to the levels that remain in operation.
